Arriving at The Essex Ranch for the first time, this winter scene captures the road leading through the gate. The bare trees stand as quiet witnesses to the early moments of our journey, taken before we even called this land our own.
On the first day we came to explore the ranch, Shon walks down the winding road beneath the winter trees and the blue skies. The quiet beauty of the landscape surrounds him, marking the start of a journey we were only just beginning to envision.

Our very first site meeting with the builder, engineer, and architect—one of many to come. This moment marks the beginning of transforming our dreams for The Essex Ranch into a tangible reality, laying the foundation for the future ahead.
On a beautiful spring day, with the land lush and green, Shon and April are deep in conversation about storage units, ‘big boy toys,’ water wells, and all the details that come with building our dream ranch. The vibrant landscape around us reflects the growth and excitement of what’s to come.

Window Day on Site- April meets with the window installer to walk through the next big step... installation day. With the winter sun casting long shadows across the foundation, the excitement builds as the long-awaited Marvin windows arrive, ready to transform the shell of The Essex Ranch into a home full of light.
Windows Delivered- A milestone moment... massive Marvin windows arrive on site, carefully wrapped and ready for installation. Each piece is a glimpse into the future views and natural light that will fill The Essex Ranch.
Front and Center- The signature window wall of the main gabled entry is now fully in place. Tall, black-framed panes stretch toward the peak, anchoring the home with light, symmetry, and the soul of The Essex Ranch.
Windows Awaiting Their Place- Inside the framed structure, the freshly delivered windows rest against the stud walls, still wrapped in protective plastic. Their scale and craftsmanship already hint at the beauty they’ll bring to the space.
The Essex Ranch main house continues to take shape as installation begins on the Enviroshake aged cedar roof shingles. The warm, natural tones of the shingles complement the hand-cut stone exterior, bringing texture and depth to the evolving design.
Framed in Gold- From the outside looking in, the window installation reflects the day’s last light. Framed by deep blue WeatherLogic sheathing, the glass panels create a bold and modern contrast against the rugged Texas land.
Golden Hour Installation- A corridor of newly installed windows glows with the warm light of sunset, casting long shadows across the floor. The view out begins to merge with the view in, giving life to the architectural vision.
